Portfolio
Each year, fifth, eighth and tenth graders across eleven
MTN districts participate in the portfolio assessment as
part of a larger effort to provide multiple ways for
students to demonstrate their accomplishments across the
curriculum in reading, writing and speaking. For students
entering Tamalpais High School District, portfolios are one
way for students to demonstrate that they meet the high
school graduation Outcomes #1 (Writing & Speaking) and
Outcome #2 (Reading). The California standards for English
Language Arts are incorporated into the scoring rubrics for
MTN portfolios. The portfolios are read and scored by
teachers from MTN districts. A score of 4 indicates
proficient accomplishment.
